Inquiry-based learning is an active methodology that focuses the educational process on students’ curiosity and questions. Through investigation and analysis, they build their knowledge by exploring real problems or issues. This approach fosters skills such as critical thinking, autonomy and problem solving, promoting deeper understanding. It also connects learning to meaningful experiences, making it relevant and lasting. Inquiry-based learning transforms students into active agents of their own learning.
First, we pose questions or a significant problem to be solved.
Then we became researchers and collected all kinds of data.
Once we have the necessary information and data, we analyse it carefully.
Finally, we reflected on what we did and the findings.
At New Cambridge School we implement inquiry-based learning so that our students become the protagonists of their own knowledge. From carefully designed units, we create investigative projects guided by key questions that awaken their curiosity. With the support of technological media, they explore, analyse and construct answers, developing not only research skills, but also a personal connection to their learning. Our teachers are guides on this exciting journey, where children discover the power of questioning, searching and reflecting, transforming them into autonomous learners engaged with their environment.
We ask questions that can be investigated.
We develop critical and reflective thinking.
We lead our learning process with ownership.
We learn from experiences that are valuable for our education.
We acquire social, intellectual and emotional skills.
