At New Cambridge School, we offer all academic levels, from preschool to high school. We welcome children from as little as eight months.
We follow Calendar B, with the academic year starting in August and concluding in the first week of June. We have regular holiday breaks, including Colombia’s recess week in October, Christmas, and Easter Week.
From K4 onwards, our students begin their English language education, complemented by various real-life immersion experiences. We rigorously aim for all students to achieve a C1 level in English by the end of their educational journey. Additionally, we offer French as a third language, integrated into school routines to foster proficiency and appreciation of French culture.
Our school primarily follows a constructivist model. However, our teachers incorporate active and meaningful learning methodologies that align with the dynamics of our globalized world. These include frameworks like HighScope, the International Baccalaureate (IB), and inquiry-based learning.
New Cambridge School is constantly innovating and updating itself. Recent innovations include the launch of our PreU Campus, the first pre-university program in the region, and the implementation of the Houses System to encourage healthy competition and a stronger sense of community. We are also modernizing the Lower and Upper Primary School buildings. Houses System, a mechanism to promote healthy competition and strengthen a greater sense of belonging to our school. We are currently in the process of modernising the Lower and Upper Primary School building.
Student well-being is essential to learning. Our state-of-the-art food service is managed by professionals in nutrition, food engineering, and culinary arts, with certified standards. We promote a culture of wellness and informed decision-making by helping students of all ages understand the processes behind their meals, ensuring a healthy lifestyle for everyone.
We have a Welfare and Community Coordination and a department of specialists in coexistence and school support called Learning Support Center (LSC). The professionals who are part of these areas are responsible for accompanying the integral process (academic and emotional) of each student and promoting a healthy coexistence.
We have classrooms with capacities from 10 to 20 students in Early Years (8 months to 5 years old), 25 in Lower Primary School (First, Second and Third) and a maximum of 30 from Fourth onwards.
We are a secular school. We are convinced that the formation of individuals is specifically linked to the experiences of each child in their environment. For this reason, we believe that each student should permanently live experiences of social transformation through projects that generate human, social and community sensitivity. However, we offer the sacrament of first communion, of the catholic religion, for the interested community.
As a school belonging to Cognita Schools and Redcol Holding, we have Global Experiences, a set of global experiences according to the interests of each student. Through these experiences we shape their future, strengthening their skills in global contexts. This is a powerful tool for cultivating tomorrow’s leaders. Our offerings are:
