At New Cambridge School we offer all school years, from pre-school to high school. We welcome children from the age of eight months in August (the month in which the school year begins).
We are calendar B, we start the school year in August and finish the year during the first week of June. The holidays of recess week, Christmas and Easter are taken as normal.
From K4 onwards, our students begin their English language training, as well as offering them multiple real immersion experiences. We work rigorously to obtain a C1 level of English in all our students at the end of their experience with our educational project. In addition, we offer alternatives for learning French, our third language, which is present in the school routines, encouraging the mastery of the language and the appropriation of French culture.
At the school we learn mainly through the constructivist model. However, our teachers implement active and meaningful learning methodologies that respond to the dynamics of our globalised world, such as those proposed by the HighScope curricula, the International Baccalaureate and inquiry-based learning.
The school has permanent spaces for reflection and updating. The most recent innovation was the opening of our PreU Campus, the first pre-university in the region; as well as the implementation of the Houses System, a mechanism to promote healthy competition and strengthen a greater sense of belonging to our school. We are currently in the process of modernising the Lower and Upper Primary School building.
The well-being of our students is one of the essential inputs for learning. We have one of the best food plants run by certified nutrition, food engineering and cooking professionals. We promote a culture of wellness and good choices through understanding the food and nutrition process for students of all ages, ensuring a healthy life for all.
We have a Welfare and Community Coordination and a department of specialists in coexistence and school support called Learning Support Center (LSC). The professionals who are part of these areas are responsible for accompanying the integral process (academic and emotional) of each student and promoting a healthy coexistence.
We have classrooms with capacities from 10 to 20 students in Early Years (8 months to 5 years old), 25 in Lower Primary School (First, Second and Third) and a maximum of 30 from Fourth onwards.
We are a secular school. We are convinced that the formation of individuals is specifically linked to the experiences of each child in their environment. For this reason, we believe that each student should permanently live experiences of social transformation through projects that generate human, social and community sensitivity. However, we offer the sacrament of first communion, of the catholic religion, for the interested community.
As a school belonging to Cognita Schools and Redcol Holding, we have Global Experiences, a set of global experiences according to the interests of each student. Through these experiences we shape their future, strengthening their skills in global contexts. This is a powerful tool for cultivating tomorrow’s leaders. Our offerings are:
