The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international educational organisation, which develops students with an attitude of lifelong learning. At our school, we offer the Diploma Programme, an IB curriculum taught in the final two years of schooling that balances academic and personal development, promoting enquiry skills, critical thinking and intercultural sensitivity.
Through this curriculum, students are prepared for both higher education and the challenges of a globalised world, forming responsible, informed and empathetic citizens.
It forms balanced, critical and reflective individuals.
It empowers students to face future challenges.
It fosters empathy and respect for other cultures.
It encourages research and informed decision-making.
We cultivate curiosity and develop skills for enquiry and research.
We use our conceptual understanding by exploring knowledge.
We use critical and creative thinking skills to analyse complex problems.
We express ourselves confidently and creatively in a variety of languages, idioms and manners.
We act with integrity and honesty, with a deep sense of fairness, justice and respect.
Desarrollamos una apreciación crítica de nuestras culturas, historias, valores y tradiciones.
We show empathy, sensitivity and respect.
We approach uncertainty with foresight and determination.
We understand the importance of physical, mental and emotional balance.
We carefully evaluate the world and our own ideas and experiences.
At New Cambridge School we implement the IB Diploma Programme with a strong curriculum structure that combines academic rigour and global relevance. We integrate core components, such as Monograph, Theory of Knowledge and CAS, into meaningful activities that enhance critical thinking and social engagement.
We offer personalised academic and emotional support to help our students reach their full potential. In addition, we promote an active link with the environment, connecting learning with reality, and we carry out constant evaluation and feedback to ensure continuous improvement and excellence every step of the way.
We study the nature of language and explore its practical and aesthetic dimensions.
We further develop the ability to communicate through the study of language, subject areas and texts.
We train to be the future agents of change that companies require and, on the other hand, we understand how the world we live in works.
We study life and living systems, using a variety of approaches and techniques. We also identify patterns to explain matter at the microscopic level.
We develop mathematical concepts and apply them to solve problems posed in a variety of meaningful contexts.
We are challenged to address today’s environmental issues, adopting a scientific and solution-oriented approach.
We understand the ways in which knowledge is acquired and validated in different areas, encouraging critical and reflective thinking.
We put their learning at the service of the community, participating in activities that run parallel to the study of academic disciplines.
We use the skills acquired to write a research paper of no more than 4,000 words, related to a subject we are taking.
