We are the best school in Santander!
In 2017, our 11th grade students demonstrated high academic competencies that led to our recognition as the number 1 school at the national level, among all the schools in Colombia, according to the official ranking of the ICFES on the SABER 11 tests. Our commitment to academic excellence and world-class bilingualism has kept us in second place nationwide, in the learning outcomes of the years 2018 and 2019. Today, our students are recognized for their high levels of mathematical reasoning, critical reading and English.
We believe in emotional well-being as the basis of happiness!
At New Cambridge School, we are very proud to be an institution that for more than 50 years has formed leading men and women in Bucaramanga, receiving the Great Place to Study certification, thanks to our pedagogical program that teaches students to understand that there are no limits in the pursuit of happiness and that our role is to provide them with the right tools, resources, environment and leaders, and educate them to achieve their dreams.
Passion for Education!
For more than 50 years, we have been known for educating individuals who transform communities. Our students not only have high standards in relation to their learning but are also generators of change.
Social Work
We are currently working with 6 local foundations that enable us to learn about the social impact of education, by supporting different vulnerable communities. Our children and young people work for the disabled, the elderly, children with terminal illnesses and provide their knowledge to support the Gonzalo Jimenez Navas public school, by teaching English to the younger students. We are confident that sharing the knowledge and skills of our Cambridge profile is another way of learning.
Amparo Scholarship
This scholarship is the legacy of service left by our founder, Amparo Vesga de Rey. Thanks to this initiative, we have 14 children with limited financial resources at our school, who shine thanks to their knowledge, their passion for learning and for transforming their community. Our Amparo Scholarship fully covers these students' education, materials and the requirements necessary to live the Cambridge experience. Each year, we engage more scholarship students through the Albeiro Vargas Foundation and a detailed admission and selection process.
Having been nominated from among more than 4,000 teachers from around the world and becoming the only finalist on the American continent, Patricia Abril won the Dedicated Teacher Award, organized by the University of Cambridge in England. This competition is intended to highlight the transformative work of education and rewards the teacher who has done a specific and extraordinary job in his/her educational activity. The teacher from New Cambridge School was chosen for promoting social work among all students, with different communities and in the places that need it most in the region. Through the social project program to form transformative leaders of her school, Patricia has led projects with vulnerable communities, the disabled population, raising awareness in pediatric oncology wards, recovering parks and, in general, human capacity-building for her students. Patricia is a clear example of the impact of education beyond the classroom.
